I was at the Labor Rally and March along the south waterfront in Portland yesterday. It was an inspiring time with thousands showing up in solidarity to our union and immigrant brothers and sisters.
Not long after these images were shot, the cowardly ICE facility started firing tear gas and flash grenades into the crowd - a crowd that included many children and elderly. There was not riot, no destruction of property, no instigation from the crowd. Only signs, chants and unified voices. All violence came from the ICE members.
