Portraits of professional wrestlers in India. It is not just a job for them, but a lifestyle. Their parents bring them at a young age to a wrestling academy, where they grow up and develop their grappling skills. It is a kind of fraternity, where mutual respect is paramount. When they actually wrestle, they don't hold back. There were numerous age classes from teens of about 14 years to wrestlers in their 40's. One thing I noticed were the cauliflower ears on most of the older wrestlers. They wrestle on a dry sandy surface.

Great portraits, Charles. Some pretty nasty ears there!!
Yes, those ears are really something. I remember professional wrestlers in Canada in the 60's who had the same type of ears. I wonder whether it affected their hearing ultimately?

Thanks, Dan. Surprisingly, even though some of them looked tough, they were actually very pleasant and friendly with me.
