hi
i’m in helena helping my father close down his engineering business. he has a pile of photo gear he’d like to give away.
includes numerous film cameras (plus an early digital nikon), many lenses, cases, manfrotto tripod w/head, benbo tripod w/ball head, copy stand, lowell light system, large collapsible softbox, numerous light stands and umbrellas, large light box, reflectors, lamps, misc filters, etc.
will require a pickup or van to haul off (we can’t deliver).
fyi, there’s no fancy gear (ie: collectables) but a great start for a budding photog, or student, or photo teaching group.
know of any photographer in our area who’d want it?
again, totally free!
needs to be gone in next few days
i left messages for the photo teacher at the local high school a couple times, but have yet to hear back
please pass word.
my cell is:
area code (541)
and number 620-3489 (posted this way to hopefully slow the spammers)
thank y’all!
It's great that you're giving it away. I hope students or someone finds a good use for the equipment. Someone local should snatch that sturdy looking copy stand.
anyone know anyone who’d be interested? help us please.

That is an extremely sweet offer. In particular, the copy stand would be an excellent foundation for anyone wanting to camera digitize photos, slides or negatives. It has a large enough base for multi-shot (stitch in software) digitizing of large format originals.
Would be great if it made into the hands of a school/library/maker space. Don't know if it helps, but you might reach out to Photographers Formulary, over in Condon, MT. They are one of the flame keepers for analog and alt process imaging.

thank you matoqui, that was very helpful!
i joined their organization and posted about the free gear. yesterday a member of that group came and collected everything. he is a teacher of film photography so it all went to a good home.
