HI all, I will be in Paris this May. I will be vising the Bibliothèque nationale de France. Does anyone know if they allow tripods in there? thanks in advance.

Searching on “are tripods allowed at the Bibliothèque nationale de France“ gave some links and the following text, FWIW.

“Tripods are generally not allowed at the Bibliothèque nationale de France unless you have made prior arrangements and possibly paid a fee. It's best to check specific guidelines or inquire at the library before your visit.”

Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. I did google search it but didn't find the answer. can you provide the link where it says “Tripods are generally not allowed at the Bibliothèque nationale de France unless you have made prior arrangements and possibly paid a fee. It's best to check specific guidelines or inquire at the library before your visit.”?

I searched using "Duck, Duck, Go" rather than google, and that was its summary answer. There were also direct links to the place with English text, so you might try writing to them to get the most accurate answer. Good luck. (Generally, museums and galleries do not allow tripods for obvious reasons, at least not without getting special advance permission.)

SkyNet these days gives pretty reliable information

Just don't forget to ask it to explicitly list its sources

As a general rule, you can expect that tripods will not be allowed inside public buildings.
