p.1 #1 · Voigtlander Lens Question

Hello, I received a new to me Voigtander 35mm APO lens for my Nikons today. When I rotate the focus ring, the lens barrel clocks slightly before the focus rings twists. The lens is tight in the mount. My 15mm lens does not do this. The lens appears like new otherwise. Any idea if this is normal?

What do you mean by "clocks slightly"?

The lens barrel rotates slightly, to include the end of the lens. The mount portion of the lens does not. Thanks

If off the camera can you rotate it (clock) by holding just the ends?

I have a general 1. Doesn't move at all. Think you have a bad one.

Thank you, going to send it back. It didn't feel quite right.

@yukosteel

He's the man when it comes to CV lenses. This sounds like something I would send back too.

Didn't deal with that particular lens, but behavior sounds concerning, even if it's 1mm. I'd assume something is just not tightened in the internal mechanics and most likely easy to fix, though sending it back is what I'd do.
