I'm looking to buy a Sony A7III body to convert to IR or one that's already been converted to 720nm or Full Spectrum. I'll mark this post bought once I find one.
I would highly recommend full spectrum conversion. Companies like Kolari now sell magnetic framed filters that you can easily pop into the camera body, allowing you to flip the filter type without having to use ones on your lenses. Alternatively, you can use their Hot Spot Killer filter on the inside and a 720nm on your lenses and “rescue” the usability of some lenses.
A7iii is just about ideal for this purpose. I have on converted to full spectrum and have had spectacular results.
