I call my M4-2 the camera that saved Leica. The initial cameras had a rough start but laid the foundation for all of the film M cameras.
I did trip over a curb while out and about with it and sent it skidding along the sidewalk. Fortunately, only the grip was dammaged. The rangefinder stayed aligned!
I've never dropped my M3 in 50+ years and don't plan to try it
M6ttl in case was knocked off a bench to floor by a clumsy fellow passenger at airline security checks. Minor tweak of r/f alignment needed.
