A few years ago, I visited Italy and spent four nights in Siena, using it as a base to explore the Tuscan countryside. I had reserved an automatic rental car for two days, but since none were available, I ended up with a stick shift. That was certainly an "experience." While I managed fine on flat roads, navigating stop-and-go traffic on steep hills was a nightmare. Between the rain and the locals honking at my struggles, it was as stressful as it was comical.
After five hours of battling the gears, I admitted defeat and returned the car. On my walk back to the apartment, the clouds suddenly parted, and a spectacular light show hit the city. Knowing the moment wouldn't last, I didn't waste time scouting a perfect vantage point; I just started shooting. Here is a series of images from that afternoon.
Thanks for viewing and I welcome all comments and critiques!

Beautiful light. And the 1st is a perfect vantage for the city. Sienna is not a night life city - the sidewalks roll up after dinner. But, I'd like to use it as a base next time to cycle the strada bianche of the countryside that surrounds it.

These photos, especially the first two, make me think I'm there, at the same time as wanting to be there. You did great at capturing the light.
Thanks Cedric, the light was truly spectacular. Glad you enjoyed viewing them 👍🏻
