Male Northern Harrier, also known as the Gray Ghost. The nickname of Gray Ghost comes from the fact that it is far less common compared to the female harrier. And from my experience it is far more skittish than the female and always seems to be a couple of football fields away when you spot one. But I was in luck the other day when I had one make numerous passes out in front of me and stick around long enough for me to get a few shots.

Great image. I never thought of looking for birds to photograph near football fields.
