a 35mm f2 zeiss planar from the Contax g series converted to leica m with a new brass barrel painted in black lacquer
the lens is in nice condition
this is an early mr ding conversion done by him - the early conversions are considered of higher quality with tighter quality control
the focus is smooth - no play or movement in the mount - glass is nice
the planar is a 7 element design similar to the type iv summicron

the Contax g lenses for the g1 & g2 had an aperature ring that adjusted the opening
they were auto focus so lacked a manual focus mount
the Contax g optical unit with the aperature is removed from the lens & fitted in this
black lacquer focus mount
from what I have seen online
there is a flange under the name ring
that attaches with 4 screws to the Contax autofocus mount
the aperature mates with the adjustment ring on either mount
the work was done by mr ding in Asia
he collimated & adjusted it for leica m

yes - I used this on a ccd sensor monochrom leica
I was pleased with the results
recently I purchased a 35mm f2 type 1 summicron
from a friend - a lens type from 1960 - that I had & sold years ago
I don't need two 35mm lenses so am selling the planar
the planar has large front & rear glass elements
illumination & sharpness are great with a nice transition
from in focus to out of focus wide open . contrast range
fit the monochrom well
