The butte and the aurora are amazing, thank you for sharing!

I tried to push it harder on the hiking and landscape photography this year, and even though I came away with a lot of shots I was happy with, it still feels like I didn't do enough.
Like them all, loving the Cauldron! Quite epic! Good luck with 2026 as well!

Did not shoot a lot of landscapes in 2025 as I "discovered" birds a couple of months ago and have been shooting them obsessively. But I did have an epic session in Alaska over the summer. I posted some from that trip earlier, here are a few that I don't think I have posted here
I have finally assembled by annual favorites collection: 2025 Favorite Photographs. (It takes me a while since I include photographs shared on my website right up though the last day of the year.)
Most are landscape/nature photographs but since I photograph a wide range of subjects the set also includes macro, architecture, travel, and night photography.
In the post at my website I write a bit more about the (difficult) process of winnowing down a year's worth of photograph to a few favorites and I describe my criteria for inclusion.

Is this after the Wanaka Tree was vandalized? It’s so sad to think about what happened to it, but this shot is still absolutely stunning! The fall colors and the sunrise light are just magical. Thanks for sharing this beauty!

Thank you
Yes, this image is after the tree was vandalized. The sunrise light is magical and makes the shoreline trees much more saturated as the sunrise light directly falls on the trees! Quite a scene in person.
