Lovely captures. I'm going in 2 weeks. Hopefully I can get lucky. I assume you need 800mm to get reasonable shots of wolves? I'm only planning on taking 100-400. Wonder if I should just tough it out and bring the 400-800.

The only way you're going to be able to get a usable shot of a wolf in June with a 100-400 is if you just happen to be there when a wolf crosses in front of your car. Or if you happen upon a freshly-killed carcass right next to the road before the park service hauls it away, which will be that morning. The answer is yes, you should just tough it out and bring the 400-800. And if you want to be sure you get at least some video of a wolf on your trip, bring a TC along, too. Yes, there'll be buttloads of heat mirage but you could get some proof-of-life video.
These give me goosebumps and that is a big compliment!
#6 the black wolf is such a beautiful image.
Can feel the tenseness of the standoff, the bear guarding the kill and the wolf just waiting for an opportunity!! That is one heck of image!!
Really enjoyed each of these, wonderful
