This may have been discussed before and I apologize in advance if so. I was wondering about using collapsible lenses on the M11. I’ve heard mixed reviews. I have a summitar 5cm and currently it’s on my M11. Is this ok to do. It seems to be clear of everything but just checking anyone else’s experience? Thanks

I have a 1956 vintage elmar 50/2.8 and I never ever collapse it on the camera because of risk to sensor, the lens works great, better than you might assume on a M11P, only collapse to on a film camera. It does make a modern dig look very vintage- but even more so on M4.
I have a 90mm Macro-Elmar-M f/4.0 on an M11M and film cameras. If sharp wide open is your thing..and it is mine..this is a great lens. I don’t use my 90mm APO, Asph.
I was more wondering collapsing the lens into the body when not in use. But thanks for this info.
