I really do enjoy taking photos
I really don’t enjoy carrying the kit around
Like many I have amassed a lot of kit, yet I just take snaps (that’s the reality)
Own several tripods - none see use
Own a box full of dedicated flashguns - none see use
Own a staggering amount of lenses - most never see use
I find I’m most at ease with my cell phone
It’s always with me 24/7
But the fact it holds so much personal information, plus resides in a wallet alongside my debit card means I’m often paranoid when using it to take snaps
I’ve often thought of just buying a seperate phone solely for picture taking
I quite like the idea of a real camera manufacturer to create a flat, go-anywhere, weatherproof camera same proportions as a cell phone but with inbuilt editing software (including AI) plus using real removable SD cards . If it had the ability to communicate with off camera flash cubes that would be a huge bonus.
Yes, a 4 lens
Macro, wide, standard, telephoto
flat pocketable camera with easy button placement sounds a great idea for those of us that really only use our phones for web browsing or photography.
We are going out for a few hours
The bag with a camera/lens plus separate lens and spare battery is sat waiting.
It will be left behind again, I carried it yesterday for several hours, nothing caught my eye so the camera never saw use. … this is a very regular occurrence these days.

If you want to get a second phone as a camera, feel free. No need to ask for permission here.
And if you own all that other gear and never use it, why not just sell it and move on? Maybe that kind of photography isn’t’ for you?[/quote
The hassle of selling.. is just that…a hassle
Cba with scammers and silly lowball overs from shops/online stores eager to flip for more.
So it can stay where it is. I’d sooner it become worthless than be scammed or line someone’s pockets

Are you a grown up?
You do know that you can do what you want. And if that is news it will blow your mind that you can do what makes you happy.
If you look at his post history here, you’ll quickly realize he just posts to get attention.
Doesn’t really matter as he claims he’ll stop visiting forums starting Jan 1…another one of his attention seeking posts.

Never!!]
If selling it is too much trouble, just give it away and move on.

Seriously??
🤣
I’ll break it all up with a hammer and bin than give to someone who then flips for cash (yep- been there, never again)
I’m signing out of all forums and deleting apps from phone (including eBay) on 31st
I’ve decided to spend 2026 detoxing
Hoping really hoping I can go back to a simpler time.
These goals seem contradictory. You want to digitally detox by using an AI powered phone to take photos? Not sure I'm following the logic. Best of luck, though.
