B&H ships today and I received AirTag 2 yesterday. This will quick attach/detach from my flash bracket and gives me many attachment points when carrying large zoom lenses. I just don’t feel comfortable hanging all that weight on the Hasselblad strap “lugs”.

Hi Bob,

I finally ordered the cage from B&H and received it in a couple of days. The price was $49.00 more but it wasn't vaporware. I
emailed Ulanzi three times, no reply. Called my Apple Card and they took it off my bill. Interestingly enough, I received a reply from Ulanzi a couple of days after my credit card folks took it off my bill, they were telling me that it had shipped. When I checked the tracking info it said "waiting for pickup", I sent another email telling them not to bother shipping it. My guess is that it will show up and I'll have to ship it back to china................or not.........

Anyway, it's a very nice cage and worth $349. I put a heavier strap on it for my air to air work.

Hope you get to enjoy it as much I do mine. It feels like the perfect accessory for the X2D II.

I can't tell by the pictures but is it Arca-Swiss compatible?

Yes.. both horizontal and vertical mounting. Also, the additional attachment points allow for sturdier and more flexible strap attachment.

The Falcam is AWESOME, got mine today. Completely solves the lug issues, adds a bit of heft to a very light camera to better balance longer lenses, and seems very solid. The L plate mounting (along with the dummy plate) is very nicely engineered.

Paid the iron price at B&H because I didn't feel like jacking with shipping from China, well worth a few extra bucks.

Thanks for making this thread, Bob, and for answering some questions along the way.

Question about the Falcam Camera Cage for the X2D / X2D II ?

How secure do you think the top strap lugs are? Looking at it, it seems the lugs are on the top removable piece - which is held to the main part of the cage by 4 very small screws.

To me this seems insecure - the full weight of the camera and lens on the end of your strap is being supported by four very small screws.

If it just me - have I missed something that makes it more secure than it appears?

Just put my PD ties through the lugs which made me think - should I

Any thoughts?

I have no concerns even with the 35-100 hanging off my camera constantly. You could always apply a bit of Loctite if you are concerned, since the cage will likely not come off often.

I've seen videos where people who have skins applied to the camera say the screws have a hard time fully setting, just FYI.

Thanks - I am warming to the idea now . Someone suggested a touch of LocTite Blue to the threads to be sure - so that is my job tomorrow

Another thing that didn't occur to me till yesterday, as I was opening the latch on my Falcam to take my memory card out...the left hand latch is a secondary element that provides a connection between the upper and lower sections of the cage. I'm not saying it provides a ton of structural support, but it's not just the 4 screws that would have to fail in order to separate the pieces, the latch would have to as well.

True - not sure I want to rely on that though
