I bought my SL3 used (LN condition from MPB) and one thing that sort of bothers me is the CF card door that doesn't quite feel "flushed" with the body. when I open it (by sliding, then flip open)...the sliding part is sorta annoying that it moves a little as it clicks then moves all the way before it flips up. it also creaks a tiny bit when you hold the camera a certain way when closed...actually, not a creak but it moves a very tiny bit...enough to notice it...and in my case who's sorta anal-retentive...enough to bothered by it when using hand-held.
I know it falls under "first world problems" but I would like to check with the others here if it's common. I found a thread where a user mentioned about the same thing about opening (but nothing about the creaking when closed).

Neither of my SL3's exhibit this behaviour. The doors are rock solid after heavy use. A door that moves when gripping the camera would bug me no end.

You're not far from Leica HQ. Might be worthwhile showing them the problem in person. Whether they'll be able to resolve the problem...
yeah true i guess i can just drive there (still an hour away, tho)...and also yes..the resolution is a separate question. :-/
Mine is rock solid like the rest of this cameras build. The SL reputation is built on this. One of its best features and part of what makes it special. The SL3 weather rating separates it from the pack. It is my bad weather camera. Hopefully your issue doesn't compromise this feature.

thanks. good point about the weather-sealing properties...mine is essentially compromised. i'm going to Leica NJ today to get it sorted out.
The SL2 door seemed better and less flimsy than the one on the SL3. On the SL3, the middle of the door depresses down when pressure is applied to push the door out, something that didn’t seem to happen on the SL2 based on recollection. The plastic also seemed thinner on the SL3 and the catch less well made.

that's exactly what's happening on my SL3 (causing a "double click" sound when you open the door and slide out) which i find very annoying...and as mentioned there's a tiny of play on the card door depending on how you hold the camera. but according to the other peeps here it's not an issue with their SL3s.
i guess i will have the final verdict when Leica Service returns the camera to me after 84 years.

FWIW, also purchased mine used from mpb in LN condition and found the top of the 2 function rocker button to the side of the lens mount on the right to be sticking. I sent camera into Leica NJ and they were nice to not only address the button but also checked one of the other function button and replaced it. I didn’t callout the card door, but assuming they went through the entire body for anomalies, perhaps the flimsiness is as designed. It took about a month. BTW, not very happy with mpb’s inspection as this is the 2nd time having bought something that some detailed issue cropped up that, it is my own fault, should have returned within the allowable period.

oh wow i also bought mine from mpb. tsk in fairness i've never had grading issues with them..this is the first one.
but good to know that Leica will hopefully do a good job to fix the issues.
