I don't think the 2025 reissue is appropriate to compare. For a while I was interested in the 2025 reissue, but after checking it out realized that it is NOTHING like the lux 50/1.4 pre asph version 2 that I ultimately bought and which has become my favorite lens. Examples I just shot with that lens (many of them being wide open and therefore comparable somewhat to the look of the 35 SRR and LLL 35) are here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1860074/8#16967592
I overlooked that you already have the 35 SRR. That being the case, and because you said you want to keep it, don't get the 35 LLL. I just don't think in real life you're going to see much difference between the LLL 35 over the 35 SRR other than not having the 35 SRR's glow.
Yes, I also like the pre-ASPH that I have (version 4 I believe with slide out hood) -Leica 50mm f1.4 Summilux pre-ASPH E46, #11868 12 blade with slide out lens hood,
Online since yesterday - Bobby Tonelli interviews Mr. Zhou, the founder & owner of LLL. Interesting to see the Leica passion that drives the company imo.
How does this LLL 11873 replica compare to the Thypoch Simera in terms of rendering, sharpness fall off, bokeh character?
I know the Simera 35mm is not the sharpest one compared to their 50mm or 75mm offering but I am in the market for a good 35mm. The LLL certainly is more appealing at the moment because it physically looks and feels like a Leica.
Since this thread is specifically about this lens, I thought I would post here before going to the general Buy & Sell. I have the titanium version of this lens having pre-ordered it back in November. I have taken about 50 clicks with this lens and while I really enjoy it, I have decided to sell it.
Between the time that I pre-ordered and the lens' arrival, I came into some extra cash and a good deal on a Leica Lux 35 FLE II. I also really like this lens. I also own the Zeiss Distagon 35/1.4 and my history with the Zeiss is that I'm on my second copy have bought, sold and regretted selling. I've been debating with myself which of these three wonderful lenses to part with and decided to let the LLL go. So, for all those who did not pre-order but are interested, please send me a PM.
I am not about price gouging but I do hope to recoup as much as possible. I will point out that the lens is mint, like new. It comes with both round and square hoods as well as. matching UV filter and friction mounted lens cap. The square hood fits securely but has some rattle as others have discussed. The round hood fits better and has less play. I have not tried using gaffers or other tape to firm up the fit.
So, if you're on the fence about this lens, here's your opportunity to get it now. If there is an objection to me posting this here, I'll take it down and move it to the B&S.
More images with the LLL 35/1.4. I recently took a trip and had the opportunity to use the lens quite a bit. I really like it. The only things I'd say watch out for, is the hood. While, it is made of titanium (at least one of them is), it is quite thin and somewhat easily bent.

Any photos of the lens itself. Wanna see this finishing.
