I was blessed to spend some weeks exploring and making images of a variety of badlands, canyons, and red rock formations in southern Utah recently, plus a bonus rainbow that was the most intense I have every experienced. I find there are always new compositions waiting to be discovered in these favorite locations that I’ve enjoyed on many previous trips. For the starry sky shot in Zion the lights from the town of Springdale provided just the glow I needed to bring detail to the cliffs. I hope you find some inspiration here in what truly is one of America’s most amazing regions.
Shot on A7RV bodies with Sony 24-105, Tamron 50-400, Sigma 14-24, Sony 16-35PZ, and Sony 35mm f/1.4 lenses.

Great shots, really lovely light in all of these! The second one is my pick of the bunch, the light is soft and subtle rather than dramatic, but it works.

Impressive image set each shows unique trait and character - well presented geological features and wonderful scenic views, especially 9th landscape in wonderfully touched sunlight

Some nice Rayleigh scatterings in the slot canyon shot, Ross. And nice conditions for Court of the Patriarchs -- not easy to get good conditions there.

All wonderful captures Ross. In addition, kudos on getting great amounts of detail and texture, and yet not look over sharpened in the least bit - extremely well executed.
