p.1 #1 · Montana Mushrooms

This is from a couple of years ago. At the time, I shared on the Nikon Manual Glass Forum, but not here.

We don't get much in to way of colorful fungi here - not at all like the deciduous forests of Europe or eastern US. I did find these hanging out under a Ponderosa pine. The large one is about 3 - 4" in diameter.

Mushrooms-9x16 by Doug Stevens, on Flickr

Nikon Df + 55mm micro f 2.8. I used f11, since I was manually focus stacking and didn't want to miss focus, so not a lot of bokeh in the background. In retrospect, I should have taken my time and opened it up more but people were waiting on me.

Happy Holidays to all!

Doug

This is pretty terrific, Doug! Because of the drought, we did not have much if any in the way of fungi, this fall.

Yes beautiful Doug!
The parts of the 'shroom are very detailed and the texture of the fungi is great! Nice color also.
