I’m looking for a good 3rd party lens that I can use for Milky Way and stars shooting. Since it’s something I wouldn’t use all of the time I am trying to stay in the $500 range or less.

The 20/1.8 AFS has a stellar reputation as an astro lens and can be found used for well under $500 these days.

A liitle narrow on FOV for this purpose, but I can highly recommend the Sigma 28mm ART f/1.4 in F mount. Should be under $500 used. Stellar lens all the way around.
