p.1 #2 · Withdrawn: Sony 135mm f/1.8 GM

FT professional Nikon shooter here. When the Plena 135mm was announced and I saw the price, it was an immediate NO. Thanks to Metadap's ETZ21 adapter, I was successfully using several Sony lenses (24mm f/1.4, 16-35 f/2.8 GM ll, and 70-200 f/4 macro), where there was a void in Nikon's lineup. I investigated the 135 f/1.8 GM and compared it with the Plena. There were several aspects of Sony's 135 that I found very compelling when compared with the Plena. For one, the minimum focusing distance is less (higher magnification) therefore better than the Pleana, and two, it is lighter and smaller. I purchased a clean used 135 GM on FM in December 2023, and it was a fraction of the cost of a new Pleana. Over the past two years of use, I can say unequivocally that it is an incredibly sharp lens with gorgeous rendering and smooth and creamy bokeh. Focus is spot-on accurate with the Metadap—Zero issues.

Anyway, given Photopal's stellar feedback and the low price for this amazing optic, this is a steal.
