A cold job this time of season, Steve!

Very true Douglas, but these guys can charge a fortune for a short ride. There have been cases where they've tried to scam tourists, charging $10.00 per minute. Here's what google Ai says:
"NYC pedicab drivers typically charge by the minute, with rates often ranging from $3 to $10+ per minute, but it varies wildly, especially around tourist spots like Times Square and Central Park where predatory pricing is common; legally, they must display rates, and you should confirm the total price (per minute or flat rate) before getting in, as street hails can lead to exorbitant fees, so pre-booking or negotiating a clear flat fee for a set time/route is often safer and cheaper."
My only pedi-cab ride... My English boss came to town on a hot August afternoon during UN General Assembly week for an important customer meeting on Wall St. We had 25 minutes to get from midtown to lower Manhattan. UNGA is most known for gridlocking most of Manhattan's traffic. Unluckily, an incident of some sort had also delayed the subway. No cabs and no subway trains were moving. A pedi-cab was sitting at the light and I told my boss to cram in (much narrower than above) and told the guy the situation. There is a gentle slope downtown and at points we were careening down the sidewalk as well as the street pretty fast to get around traffic. I tipped the sweaty pedaler biggly for getting us there with 5 minutes to spare. My relieved boss gave me a simple, "Well done" as we entered the building.
Also, there is a police lot on the pier over by the ferry terminal in Red Hook that is full of impounded pedi-cabs, so NYPD must chase them down.

Great composition Steve! It is capitalism! Maybe a bit extreme for my wallet imho but he probably has many clients.
Great capture!
