Only 3.6k shutters, purchased new for $4k. There's no gimmick, but hear me out:
I truly baby all my gear, but you cannot always overcome the will of fate. Months ago while hiking, I set the camera down as I sat on some boulders and it took a short tumble into grass. Most of the dings were absorbed by the third party tripod plate. Top left corner also has a small gash which I polished.
But something also unluckily scraped up the area where one of the tiny screws lives on the bottom. As it had a lifted sharp edge, I removed the screw and ordered the most similar screw I could find off USCamera.com (a reputable camera parts dealer). Unfortunately, the new screw was just a micro-hair too big and got stuck when it was almost in. Couldn't get it out and had to sand the head off to be flush. Looks very gnarly but has no real effect beyond appearance. A professional repair could likely replace the relevant part(s) should you desire to do so down the line. I actually downloaded an official all-parts diagram PDF of a Pentax 645D which shares the same base as the Z and from what I see, this screw does not do anything other than provide redundancy to the many other screws in the base.
The camera is in perfect working order, the tumble was far too minor to have any functional affect. These things are durable as hell and probably the most resilient and brilliant cameras I've ever used, I've had two others. But in all transparency, this is why the price is so low. Screw area is paint-markered over and is covered with black tape.
I was too frustrated with myself so it's been sitting on my shelf since. You are probably shaking your head thinking "never do a self-repair" and I agree so for my sanity, please keep the pms to purchase inquiries only. It will be a reliable workhorse for years to come, the shutter count is barely warmed up. This is your chance to experience one of most jaw-dropping sensors for cheap (plus Pentax's amazing glass can be had in open box condition for as low as $150 on ebay). I've been adapting my pentax glass to fuji GFX since I stored this body.
