Thanks Karl, Many times the bunnies are just sitting outside their holes only a few yards away from the Fox den. They make for easy picking. Three years ago the many of the bunnies contracted a deadly virus and died during the denning time. This was a big problem for the foxes because there are also balk eagles that hunt the bunnies. With the lack of bunnies the eagles began hunting the fox kits and would catch them and fly away. You can see this by googling Fox,eagle, rabbit to see photos of the eagle grasping the fox and the fox grasping a bunny all as the eagle was 20 yards in the air. I think the fox did survive, but sure the bunny did not
