I would love a stacked APS-C sensor in an A9/A1 style body. I would even take the OG A9 sensor at 24 mp. But the concept would sell well for Sony I think.
Not to get too off topic, but many have been asking for a aps-c sensor in the a7 size body for over a decade and Sony has repeatedly said the crop body design priorities are to keep the size small. I’ve always wanted one, but it’s never going to happen. We got so close with the FX30, which shares the a6700’s sensor and AI processing, but lacks a shutter and any photo capability beyond a single shot with each shutter press. It’s lame they completely gimped the photo capabilities when they didn’t in the FX3 since it’s just software limited. So long story short, if you want the bigger body, Sony wants you to go full frame.

The a1/a1II is better suited for this because of its superior readout speed, I use crop lenses with mine when I want to go more compact - mostly when shooting video. But it's nice being able to get 21mp images in crop mode for wildlife with the 200-600.

Is the shooting experience (sound / feel / speed) in electronic shutter similar to A9/A1 series?
The sensor readout speed is much slower than the A1/A9 series cameras and more like non-stacked sensor bodies. Unlike the A1/A9 series, the A7V gets banding in images taken in electronic shutter under LED lights. It should also be prone to some rolling shutter, but I haven't tracked reports about that as I have done with the banding problems.
I don't have an A9/A1 series but on my A7V I shoot mostly with the ES other than when I have to use flash. I have two settings for the ES---one with a sound and one without. It's a fun camera to use, I love it!!
That is amazing to me. The A7V, I believe, has a sensor readout speed of 1/64th a second. During 1/64 of a second, I would think that the helicopter blades would show more movement than they do in the image! What am I missing?
