Just some initial comments:

- The viewfinder is a bit narrower than I expected. I looked it up and it's 0.67 magnification. Not a deal breaker, just an observation
- It's quite austere with the buttons and controls. I intend to use the AEL button for AF-ON and it's a bit of a stretch for the thumb. I was in a camera shop the other day and saw an X-T50 and it has a well positioned AF-ON button. Nice camera, I guess I was just attracted to the range-finder style of the X-E5.
- The camera is surprisingly rather comfortable to hold. I'm comparing against the Nikon ZF.

Still waiting on a lens delivery to test the rest out.

While the menu, setup, and control framework seems to be harder to learn, I must say that Auto-ISO 1, 2, 3 is *genius*. So nice to be able to quickly switch between 3 different auto ISO settings.

TT Artisan 75mm F2.
Affordable, nicely sized, with an aperture ring and has a nice blend of sharpness and out of focus rendering. I really liked it with the Zf but I think I may like it even more on x-mount.

Here are some possible 3 and 4 lens kits:

4 lens kit

Sigma 10-18 f/2.8 (handles you ultra wide to mid wide really well and is very small)
Fuji 23 f/2.8 - a really nice pancake and small
Fuji 16-50 f/2.8-4.8 - a small and decent kit lens
Fuji 50 f/2 (very nice and compact telephoto)

Alternative 4 lens kit and you could mix and match

Viltrox 15 f/1.7 (small sharp and relatively fast and a good performer)
Viltrox 25 f/1.7 (small sharp and relatively fast and a good performer)
Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 (probably better as a one lens solution than the 16-50 f/2.8-4.8)
Viltrox 56 f/1.7 (small sharp

The first 4 kit lens would be my recommendation, swap the 10-18 out for sigma 12 if you prefer 1.4. I personally chose the sigma 56 1.4 over the Fuji 50 and 56 for the small size and 1.4 - for me this was a great choice, I am very happy with it.
I love the 23 f2.8 I actually prefer it to the 27 ( although I don’t know if it is the lens or the xe5) the xe5 is awesome It fits in the tiniest pocket with the 23 or 27. I am contemplating the 13-33

FWIW, instead of listing specific lenses — though I could — I’ll note that when relying on primes for a light travel (and street) photography kit I im generally for about a 2:1 focal length ratio between lenses. (If I felt that I needed much more fine gradations than that, I’d lean toward a zoom instead.)

I’ll add that these days you can get far more mileage out of a lens with a somewhat smaller maximum aperture than we might have accepted in the past. I’m generally fine with f/2 and f/2.8 lenses, and they can be much smaller and lighter.

Good point Dan. While I *love* the versatility of my 16-55/2.8 for travel, I also enjoy "walking around" with primes. In my case I also use a rather loose 2x jump between focals, a 12, 25 and 56, all fairly small and lightweight, but fast-ish f1.7's and 1.4's...
