The rebates for some new Z lenses make it a better value to buy a new Z rather than refurbished. I'm surprised at how limited the refurb selection of lenses are.
Most sales have a specific focus. Sometimes it’s lenses, sometimes it’s bodies.

Z30 is probably of not much interest here but the kit with little 16-50 lens is down to its lowest to $380, about $20 lesser than last time. Fantastic value.

Yeah, that's an absolute steal.
I find the Z30 with the 16-50 or the 24/1.7 to be a perfect large sensor compact to put on your hip or in a jacket pocket. Roughly the same size as something like an X100 series, but at massively lower prices. Yeah, you lose a viewfinder and some resolution, but with the 24/1.7 you get a faster lens, and with the 16-50 you get more versatility, and while resolution is lower, image quality is still outstanding, and for 1/4 the cost, it's really hard to argue with the value. Plus it works with other lenses too if you want. Like when I had my 180-600 in my car, but the only camera was my z30 because I keep it with me at all times for potential grab shots...and I was able to get a nice shot of the moon framed by pink clouds at sunset.

Do you miss the IBIS (when using primes without VR)? I have gotten used to Olympus bodies (OM-5 currently) and the IBIS in it makes me think twice about any other camera without it. Z30 is sitting in my cart since yesterday and so is the Viltrox 25/f1.7
A little, but when I’m shooting stuff at slow shutter speeds I usually have a zoom with VR on, and primes I’m often in better light or shooting people which needs the higher shutter speed. Hard to complain for less than $500 though.
I have both the Viltrox 25/1.7 and the Nikon 24/1.7. The Viltrox is the better lens, and I tend to use it on my Z50 II. I keep the 24/1.7 on my Z30 because it’s shorter and fits easily in my small belt bag, while the Viltrox is just a touch too long.
