I had the privilege this week of photographing a dress rehearsal of The Why Collective, a modern dance troupe, at the New School in NYC. The conditions under which I had to photograph were challenging: a room far too small to properly capture dancers, irregular and inadequate lighting, flash photos not permitted, squeezed quarters, etc. I ended up mostly concentrating on taking portraits of the dancers. All considered though, a lot of fun, watching and photographing talented dancers.
