Stan, if I'm understanding the multi remote function, it requires a network to work. How the heck do I create a network out on the bush? You have any portable solutions?
It would be amazing if you could connect to the other cameras via bluetooth and they would all trigger in sync with your shutter button, eliminating the need for a phone or tablet all together.
Firmware Version 1.2.0 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes:
1.Adds support for the EOS Multi Remote, a remote shooting system for professional photographers. For an overview and specifications of EOS Multi Remote, please refer to the Canon website :https://ssw.imaging-saas.canon/app/app.html?app=emr
2. Fixes an issue that in some cases caused the live-view to appear distorted or an Err70 notification being displayed in situations when the user was capturing a multiple exposure shot in a dark environment.
3. Fixes an issue in which image transfers to an FTP server may fail, displaying Err41.
4. Fixes an issue that, in rare instances, may prevent certain CFexpress cards from being formatted in the camera.
5. Improves other system stability. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.2.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

That's a big ask. Canon cannot even wirelessly fire a flash 1m away without an external radio in the hot shoe.

EBH
I would buy a hot shoe device for multicam if I could get all slave cameras to sync with whatever I'm doing with the main cam, and then have a phone or tablet ability to change settings to the slaves and just sync with the shutter button as this would allow different angles and different settings, all from one index finger on the trigger of the main cam.

Obviously I haven't tried it, but theoretically it should be possible to have eg. an Eero hotspot that's not connected to anything but still serves as a DHCP server. This would create a network that's detached from the rest of the world but devices connected to it should still see each other and function. Such an Eero hotspot can be powered by your USB-C power bank. It may be also possible to set up using your phone's hotspot, although that may work only if your phone actually has connectivity and thus not suitable for the real bush.

Sounds like you should develop a kit that works for us and sell it on Stanj's-solutions.com
Here's what I would like multi cam to do. Sync all slaves with my master cam, even the ones that are pointing backwards into the ground. You got this Stan, I'll be your first customer:

You beta testers let me know how it goes so I'll know whether to update or not in January.
I'm going to cold weather soon for the first time in my life really. I don't know what to do, maybe one of each R5, R5 II, a7rV and hope something works? There was one FW for the R5 II that supposedly had a negative impact on the AF, so I'm a bit leery about it.
