Working my way through the pages, now. My wife recently startled me by telling me that she had volunteered us to shoot a wedding, which triggered a furious dive into the internet and you-tubes. Before I died of anticipatory stress, she clarified that we were only asked to provide some candid stuff, as a pro photographer was going to be shooting the wedding. I did, however, really dive into the Z30 and ZR, on-line, and bought a Z30, which my wife instantly commandeered. This leaves me pondering the ZR.
Notably, until this wedding scare, I had mostly been pondering the Z9 and Z8, to be the logical step into Z, from my D5 and D850 cameras. Buying a ZR, to be my first Z camera, is not nearly a foregone conclusion. The large monitor is the obvious compelling external feature, and, I was quite pleased by the feel of the grip. Could a ZR really be my stills Z camera! Maybe!
The wedding already happened, so there is no rush. I actually thoroughly handicapped myself, by using an original Leica M10, and a Summilux-M 50mm ASPH. I found the need for high ISO settings to be a formidable handicap.
There's absolutely no reason why a Zr can't be a wedding still camera (save for receptions with funky LED lighting), unless of course you want an EVF, and then it's a total non-starter.

Thanks. I cannot foresee, ever, shooting a big wedding that would have funky/complex lighting. The stumbling block I see, in my using the ZR for stills, is the flash sync speed of 1/160th of a second. I do not always use flash, but when I do, it can be important, such as our night time macro “moth nights.” Of course, a powerful constant-on light might work, but, would scare-off some of the subjects. (Insects can be amazingly tolerant of flash.)
I continue to live a nearly EVF-less life. I like OVFs. And, when I use the iPhone for video, I continue to see situations that would surely favor the use of a camera with an articulating screen. Playing with the Z30, before my wife commandeered it, proved the concept of an EVF-less Z camera. Even the pricing structure helps in the decision, as the ZR sells for less than the Z6 III.
Of course, perhaps I should simply buy a second Z30, for myself. For years, I wished for a Coolpix A Mark II. A Z30, with a “pancake” lens, scratches that itch, quite well. (The Coolpix A had a DX sensor.)

There are some interesting rumors in the pipeline for Nikon, including a Zr-type stills camera.
I would think with the RAM shortages and sensor production issues plaguing Japan thanks to the recent earthquake, most of those will be delayed at least another 6 months.
