They use the Z8 for Nikon and the a9 for Sony (on Instagram, not YT), but imo the Zf and a7CR would make for much more visually appealing combination. Or at least some of the smaller bodies like the Z6 III and a7R V..
Well, Z8 is the smallest high-res Nikon body (well Z7II still exists, but it's old ...)
I don't get why they moved to this design for Sony FE, especially that focus ring. I rather have the same design as the 35 and 50 APOs, or the Nikon Z version. Perhaps I'll replace my 35 with this, as I find it gaps better with the 50.

All the new Cosina E-mount releases have used this new design since they re-started releasing E-mount lenses last year after ~3 year break. I was also wondering if this new release would follow the same styling as 35/2 and 50/2 APOs for E-mount to stay consistent with those or whether it would adapt the current new diamond pattern focus ring & aperture ring style. Personally I like the new style a lot so I'm happy, although styling is not consistent with the other APOs. I don't think the Nikon styling was ever an option for E-mount since it's based on some historical Nikon stylings.
One less thing we have to keep hearing about, so yay! Since I’m a 35mm guy, this is quite redundant to my 35 APO-L, so that’s a pass, but glad it exists for the 50 guys and gals.

Never say never . . .
I'm actually surprised at how soon Cosina came out with this. I'm still waiting for the 21mm FE to come over to the Z world.
I am definitely excited for this lens! But I am not sure if I want to get it for E mount or Z mount. On one hand, all my CV lenses are E mount, I can adapt them to Z, and they render great on a high res A7r, but IDK why they had to change the lens style. The Z lenses are now closer in design to my E lenses 🤔
E mount looks like the nokton. I would have liked it to match the 35/50 A-Ls.
Been a while since I used the focus ring on the 50 AL, not sure how I feel about it missing here but I guess there's no space for the nice retro APO logo above the aperture control either.
Nice they didn't make E & Z mount wait too long. I only recently got the nokton and simera so I can hold off until folks get theirs and make sure they did good.
