Darn..just realized that I’m just down the street from you.
Love the portraits.
Are you using Phocus? If not, this would support those that suggest that you don’t need Phocus to get great colors with the X2Dii. I’ve been using Phocus and then on to LRC as a TIFF. Also, I need to pay more attention to color temperature vs auto white balance. Great images..thanks.

Well Merry Christmas neighbor! No, Phocus seems to me to be one step above a virus. I downloaded it and got familiar enough with it to decide that it won't be a part of my workflow. That shot was really just a straight 16 Bit RAW conversions to a TIFF. I don't even think I tweaked brightness or contrast. IMHO, Phocus isn't necessary at all.

I've been using Luminar for years after moving away from Adobe, C1, and Phocus (Luminar Neo and Luminar Mobile currently) and works great for me. No conversion necessary, software just accepts it, and very happy with the processing workflow.
I even take the little Liene sublimation printer and I can process the raws on my little oled phone and print it out all in a minute or two.

Perhaps two legitimate uses for Phocus. First, you can export fully uncompressed raw files that are smaller than the raw files out of camera and secondly, it works great for tethered four shot macro work where Phocus flawlessly combines the four shots and monitors for any shake between shots. I use this when copying film negatives and transparencies. Perhaps I should add noise reduction to this list, but there a lot options on this front. Enjoy your family and planes over the Christmas/New Years holidays.

Good points all, thanks for the information. I guess that I should spend some more time with it before making a blanket statement about its effectiveness. I appreciate you.

Today I received an x2d II paired with the 55mm and 90mm lenses. After looking at some of the pictures a fellow photographer sent to me, I decided to stay with Leica, sell my GFX and Z8 gear and put my money on Hasselblad.
Tomorrow I will take a couple of portraits. Looking forward.

I think we've proven that, with some preparation, the Hasselblad can perform in a fast paced environment, this evening I had an opportunity to let it breathe and do what it was born to do..................
