Just curious if anyone has seen this behavior on their Z camera, or at least a Z camera with IBIS.
Was out shooting and in between stretches of shooting, I always fully power the camera off. On power on, nothing lit up and I could hear a tick-tick-tick-tick sound, very even rhythm, over and over until I shut the camera off.
Camera came right back on next try. My guess are the IBIS unit was "stuck" trying to "seat" itself on power on (camera was tilted down) or a lens motor was stuck trying to do something on boot, or maybe even the aperture blades were having an issue opening up...never seen this before on any Z camera, just wondering if you've ever had that happen on one.

No sure, but I could swear I had something similar happen once. It cleared on turning the camera off and then back on. I hear that the IBIS not being locked on the camera can cause "chatter" and can only think this is the cause. Hasn't happened since so I am just very careful to turn off the camera before removing a lens. Was this a zoom or macro perhaps, which specifically needs to be "unlocked" to use? Just curious.
No, was just a Viltrox prime. The more I think about the sound, the more I think it might’ve been the aperture blades.

You may be right. I have heard the IBIS sound and it doesn't sound like a repeated ticking, more like a soft "thunk" when I think about it. Have you heard/experience this since with a different lens? Hopefully this is just a one off. Maybe you might try the Viltrox on another Z body to see if it happens again.
