Last minute notification that this was happening last night, so I scooted out to a trailhead five minutes away where I knew there wouldn't be any houses to the immediate north, found a tree and started blasting away. This was the best shot of the evening.

Really nice! I like the tree as silhouette and I love seeing the stars. Of course the color is the star of the show.

Goodonya getting out there. I heard about it on the evening news, but too far to drive out of town.

Beautiiful!
Unfortunately clouded out here in SE WI last night, but we may get a reprise tonight, here's hoping!

Awesome photo! The predictions were all wrong for AZ as I'm seeing photos from my area of this aurora. They predicted it wouldn't get this far south.
I'll try to go out tonight but like most every astronomical event it's supposed to be cloudy. As a former observing astronomer we always called it the "telescope curse". Mention the word telescope and clouds magically appear.

Powerful and effective image - well balanced silhouette in great harmony with ambivalent atmosphere formed by Aurora

Thank you all!
Current predictions are looking good for tonight except for one big fly in the ointment: cloud cover. At least, where I'm at. Maybe better where you all live?

Nice, Rat! I have some friends here in Pueblo who got out and had a bit of fun. Looks like another chance tonight.
Unfortunately I'm 8 days post-knee replacement so I'm not getting out much of anywhere for a while.
