Last minute notification that this was happening last night, so I scooted out to a trailhead five minutes away where I knew there wouldn't be any houses to the immediate north, found a tree and started blasting away. This was the best shot of the evening.
Awesome photo! The predictions were all wrong for AZ as I'm seeing photos from my area of this aurora. They predicted it wouldn't get this far south.
I'll try to go out tonight but like most every astronomical event it's supposed to be cloudy. As a former observing astronomer we always called it the "telescope curse". Mention the word telescope and clouds magically appear.
Current predictions are looking good for tonight except for one big fly in the ointment: cloud cover. At least, where I'm at. Maybe better where you all live?
