Cross Country running. Now that is a lost sport! Lost event!
The top photo gives that expanse of Kansas, the runner, no one else in the frame....wide open!
I have the muscle type, red or white? that is for sprints but I ran 10K's most of my younger life. My times were pretty bad but I enjoyed pushing my body to its limits..if even for a brief...time.
The runners look Kenyan(?) which are some of "theee" fastest people on Earth! The physiology and kinesology in #1 is the "How to" in body angle for a long run.
