What did you get banned for? Because I enjoy your rants, they add some entertainment to a forum that's mostly super tranquil these days.
I never call out members or try to make it personal my beef lies with canon but that riles canon fanbois who then get nasty.
I find it unbelievable that the old M system all had sensor cleaning and a few prime lenses specifically made for aps-c .. 22mm 28mm and the incredible 32mm 1.4🥰
Superb lenses yet canon shut down that system along with the EF and EF-s
And now they release a dud. A shit zoom from the 90’s !! It was crap then and it’s still crap now with its RF mount.
We can't have that, can we? Better to mind your Ps and Qs, but people are getting sick of the PC world. It's an English trait, and it's even worse for Australians, who are basically just geographically different English working class with less social conditioning. I got unceremoniously thrown out of DPR years back. I wear it as a badge of honour, lol.
Thinking about it…
Canon should have just sold kits of the R100 + 18-45 kit zoom ** PLUS** EF-RF adapter and maybe the EL-100 flash
AKA Early canon M kits
Now that would definitely be a kit worth buying , definitely 😳👍🏻
Instead they slap a RF mount on a 90’s dud up the price and chuck it in the box….
Hoping unsuspecting beginners will fall for the offer.

I was glad that for some reason I didn't read the reviews, I actually got a lot of nice photos on my 75-300 III
I get that Mike..I do
I have shots from years gone by that are precious to me now
Pictures from my younger days taken using a compact with a plastic lens
Pictures of nearby buildings sadly gone
Pictures of childhood friends that were killed too young or died from diseases
They are monumentally precious
But today that compact with it’s plastic scratched lens would be junked - back then it was all I had and I was grateful
The fact here is this new lens is… is a cop out by canon. Even the camera lens corrections can’t improve its performance. Out of curiosity have you actually seen Christopher Frosts review on YT.??
Honestly Mike it’s dire
The comments on YouTube say it all.

I think he seemed traumatized by the performance in one video I watched, which seemed a bit much. Didn't look at it til after I ordered fortunately
But the lens got here, and it wasn't bad at all. Keep the ss high enough, get it focused, use a bit higher f numbers, you can getgood photos. Ill look at YouTube I've probably been shooting photos longer than a lot of the YouTube photographers so I don't necessarily care about their opinion
Some people forget that there are many who cannot afford a R5II and a 600L monster. For these an R10 or 100 and this low priced near 500mm equivalent gets them into the ball park for birds, wildlife and siports. Canon provides an answer for these people just as it does for the middle rangers like myself with an R6 and 200-800 that some here seem to denigrate. It works for me. Be happy with what you have, take pictures, gear has never been so little a part of taking great shots.
