Flew the drone last week up the Mountain Loop Hwy. in the Cascades behind my house to catch first snow of the season on many of my favorite peaks. The low clouds added a nice element
Great images Jim with your usual expert processing. I like them all and am particularly drawn to the Del Campo image with that huge sloping expanse of granite?. Wow! Steve
Steve, those slabs are on the next door mountain, Lewis Pk., and are some kind of sandstone. The mountains in this area are a real mix of rock - Vesper has some nice granite.
Monika, the first is also my favorite, but the only one of these peaks I haven't summited. A few years ago I hiked up there to solo the easy 4th class route. I had carefully done the crux pitch (on solid rock), but backed off of the last move up onto a sloping ledge of loose pebbles. I could see a way to make it, but knew that getting backing down it and trying to find the solid foothold I was on would be sketchy, so I down climbed and haven't returned. I should have brought a rap rope and a light harness.
