I cannot imagine getting kidnapped nor tortured for weeks and months at a time.
Photojournalists take a huge risk that many of us shy away from or aren't interested in that type of adrenaline rush every second of every day.
When my nephew was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan he ran across a few guys his age chasing THE photo that would establish themselves.
One or two that went along one was seriously wounded and went home. The other was peppered with bits of shattering concrete wall after it was hit with automatic small arms fire.
