Hello, I understand that the F6 will not control the aperture and the lens will be "stuck" at f5.6, but does anyone know if the VR and AF will work? Would you strongly not recommend this combo? Also would any of the nikon tele-convertors work? Thanks!
I have owned and shot the 500PF for maybe 4-5 years. It was my go-to with the D850 and would still be my go-to with my Z8 if not for the 180-600 replacing it as the go-to.
I know nothing about the F6.
The 500 PF is unique. It weighs a little over 3 pounds. It is f-mount and of course fully functional on my Z8 with the FTZ adapter. It is very sharp. Regarding resolution, in the past I posted two groups of images showing that images taken with the 500PF vs those taken with the 500PF and the 1.4TCII. (not ther TCIII) are indiscernible. I searched for that posting but as always, I found that the FM search option leaves much to be desired. i am not going to struggle with it
There is one thing I did not like about the 500PF. If the focus point was behind the subject I found that I could not focus on the subject. But isn’t the same with all lenses? i do not know.
My understanding from research is that AF and VR should work fine. Only the aperture will it function. However I do not have first hand experience with this.
