The EVF of my GFX 100 II suddenly began to show streaks in the shadow and highlight. It began to act yesterday then went away, but came back again today. Tried cleaning the contacts, resetting the camera, updating firmware, changing settings, but nothing seems to help. The LCD display is normal.
Any tips on what could have gone wrong? I am afraid that I will have to send it in.
If you haven't already done so, you might try turning Boost Mode On and Off (which varies the EVF Refresh Rate) and see if that makes a difference. Also, you can double-check your Anti-Flicker settings.

I have pretty much tried changing everything that I could find on the menu, and it doesn't make any difference. It looks like any pixels that are below or above certain brightness are clipped, and stuff around the mid tone looks perfectly fine. The LCD however is totally normal.

I would guess that either the EVF display or driver board need to be replaced.

Yeah, this really sucks!
My first GFX 100 II developed the "lens control error" in two weeks and I was able to return it for a full refund. This second one is less than 2 years old and had this happened. Maybe I have bad luck, but two bad cameras out of two speaks for the reliability.
I have used Canon for more than twenty years, starting with the D30 (not counting the film SLRs before it), and still have two R series cameras. I have never had a single failure!
I hear ya! I've owned and extensively shot 3 Nikon FF DSLR's, 3 FF Canon DSLR's and 13 FF Sony mirrorless cameras without a single failure. My GLX 100S II has occasionally "locked-up" to where I need to remove the battery and reboot. The Leica Q3 I had for a time would do the same thing (from reading the forums, this does not seem to be highly unusual for the Q3). My fingers are crossed that my Fuji camera is, otherwise, as reliable as my Nikon, Canon and Sony cameras, since I really enjoy shooting it.

Have you tried removing and re-seating the EVF? I had a client who experienced some weirdness with their EVF and that process resolved the issue.

I tried pretty much everything you could think of. The camera has been sent it for repair and I should be able to heard from them soon.
Ok, sounds good. Relatively uncommon issue, but glad it will be resolved for you.
It turned out that the top plate of the camera needs to be replaced, a near $600 repair! I am glad that I had sent in the whole camera, even though the technique support suggested me only sending in the EVF.
ESTIMATE DETAILS: NEEDS :TOP COVER (TOP COVER ISSUE , WHEN THE EVF IS PUT ON, THE EVF HAS A DEFECT WHITE STRIPES APPEAR ) SHUTTER COUNT 9520 LABOR $240.00 + PARTS $333.00 + SHIPPING $23 = $596
They also want to charge $70 just to check and clean the EVF, which I refused.
