My switchover to Nikon is complete, so I'll be lurking more in the Nikon group going forward. It feels like going back to school, learning the vastly different ergonomics and control logic, but I'm enjoying it immensely.
I have a feeling I'll be back to Sony sooner or later (ie when an A1ii or equivalent can be had for about $3000).
But until then, I'll be watching from the other side of the looking glass...

That's what they all say, but as Ludovico Settembrini once remarked in The Magic Mountain:
Gods and mortals have occasionally visited the Shadow Realm and found their way back. But the subterraneans know that anyone who tastes the fruits* of their realm will remain addicted to them.

I bounced around a while in my film days... the last 2 Nikons I owned were the F3 HP and N8008, my first AF camera. They were awesome little bodies, before camera's got huge.
When I came to Sony (from Pentax K-1 Full Frame) it was mostly because of lack of development and new product, the need for better AF-C, and the writing was one the wall. If I was just shooting landscapes, I could have stayed put... but Sony's huge selection of glass and leading AF were what got me here at the time.
IF I was making that same switch today, Nikon with the Z8 with its stacked sensor and improved lens selection would have been at the top of my list. So, I can't hardly blame you and applaud your willingness to make such a big change. As we get older and set in our ways, change gets harder and harder to deal with, so good on you, wish you the best Mike!

Enjoy your Nikons! I shot Nikon for decades, film and digital, and I'm very happy to see them at the top of their game again. In many ways my brain is still Nikon wired, ergonomically, and last year I saw a deal on a D4 and couldn't resist...love those full sized Nikon bodies.
May the future bring you amazing sensors and fast glass.

Mike, I know how exciting it can be when switching to a new system - I went from Nikon to Sony almost three years ago and I’m still having a blast. Enjoy the journey, and good shooting to you!

Mike, it just means that you have gotten old! ;-) (hey buddy, right there with you)
At any rate, FM is a community, I don't see the point of hanging out only on one brand forum or only one forum - how are you ever going to learn something if keeping sharing only with people with the same experience and viewpoints?! :-)
