Welcome to the forum! Nice composition and colors of a hard to catch little beauty.
Looks like noise reduction is a little heavy and might have stolen some detail, but the biggest thing I see is a little motion blur.
I see you are using flash, which dictates a certain shutter range... With your Oly rig, here and also on the macro forum there are several Oly users that might be the ones to answer your question as to how best config that combo with flash to freeze action. Without flash I find it takes at least 1250th or faster to freeze the little critters.
If you want credible feedback, you should include the EXIF, which appears to be stripped. And nobody here can tell how much you cropped the image.
Not sure you would have needed flash. Non-Oly users are probably not aware that your OM-1 has blackout-free shooting at up to 50 fps. Shooting at a higher frame rate increases your odds of getting a sharper in-focus image.
Visit the M4/3 forum to see what images your camera is capable of capturing.
Welcome to the forum. You've got a very capable set up with the OM-1 and 300mm f/4.
I'm with the others here. Exif info would be a big help (just check the 'Exif' box when loading the image). My thoughts are that your issue is simply shutter speed limitation when using flash, as 1/250 Sec is the max and in bright ambient light you will get motion blur. I would not use the flash and use Shutter Priority (or Manual) and set a shutter speed of somewhere around 1/2000 Sec. Use Auto ISO with an upper limit of 12800 and reduce any noise in post.
Hello and thanks for the info. The shutter was 1/2000s and f/5.0. ISO was set at 3200 Flash was set to TTL and on FP so I could get over the 1/250 sync setting. I will check over to the 4/3 forum next. I just started with Lightroom moving up from the Apple software and that is overwhelming as well as a new camera. My last serious shooting was weddings with film Nikons. I tried to start with a Canon 1Dx mkII and a 500mm f4 that a brother in law sold me. I could barely pick it up. Now trying to decide on a perhaps better lens like the 90mm f/3.5 macro or the 50-140mm f/2.8 zoom. Maybe the 300 f/4 is all I need but I might rent the other 2. I just found out how to include EXIF and I guess that would show up here automatically? I'll move this post to the 4/3 forum so thanks for the input. My brain hurts trying to figure out the new system.
