I’ve recently moved from Windows to a Mac Studio and am looking for a monitor. I have read lots about scaling issues with a Mac OS…much of which is conflicting…surprise. I do print and prefer a matte screen. ideally I would like to keep the cost below 1K. My biggest question is resolution? TIA
What size monitor are you looking for? and do you want hi-dpi?
If you want to stick to Mac's 220 PPI resolution, there aren't many choices. Basically the apple studio display, Benq 2730s, and Asus pro art. There might be a dell somewhere. I think only the Asus is below 1k.
Some people are fine with a 4k monitor scaled for Mac UI. I think you have to test for yourself if that will work. If it does, then you have many more options.
I'd keep your eye out for a refurb Studio Display, it's the perfect match and can often be had for just over $1000. I was worried about the glare on the non-nano and it's been a non-issue.
edit: looks like prices have gone up just a bit, but it's still a buy once/cry once type purchase that will serve you well.
