I had and enjoyed shooting an X-E2 in the past, but sold it and upgraded to an X-E3. In just a few days I regretting selling the camera. Last week I had a chance to buy a mint condition X-E2 and jumped on it. When the camera came I mounted my X-23/2 lens and have enjoyed shooting that wonderful combo again.The straight-out of-camera jpeg images from the 16 mp trans 2 sensor are so film like. Loving back shooting an E-E2!

I've read about the X-E2's golden colours, I've had an X-E3 (still have it) but now using an X-E5 for a little nicer skin colours since I have the xf 35mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.2 for it mainly.
But I also hear the same thing everytime there's a new sensor. I read how the X-E4 was much more filmic than the X-E5, and maybe it is!
I'm curious to try an X-E2 though, or at least would love to see more sample images with it. Will keep my eyes peeled in here.
I love the grip on the x-e3, only one of my cameras that I didn't feel needed a case or thumb grip. Looks like X-E2 is similar with that.

I have an X-E2s. Not sure what the upgrades were over the E2. It remains a fun shooter. When newer cameras come out it doesn't make the IQ from older cameras worse.

The tendency to move towards technology in sensors with higher dynamic range and more "technical" improvements I believe contribute to the overwhelming "nostalgia" one gets from these older sensors. I was out shooting with my X-E3 today and marveled at despite the difference in contrast and dynamic range from the X100V, the pictures were still excellent and exuded a softer, film-like (or "nostalgic") feeling.

I have used Fujifilm x-trans cameras from the XE1 (16mp, over a dozen years ago) up through the XT5 (40MP, now), and I don't agree that the colors of the older sensors were any better than those from the newer sensors.
The old sensors were quite competent during their times, and if you are using one now it can do as well as it did back then. But there's no degradation from using the newer sensor cameras, and they are an improvement in a number of ways.

I shot the X-E1 and X-E2 for many years and eventually upgraded to full frame. I'm amazed at how well FF preserves highlight tones and how little I have to process the images in Lightroom compared to before. The DR measurements on photonstophotos are dramatic.
