p.1 #1 · Feedback Wanted on The Monochrome Collective website
Hi everyone,
I created a new website for Monochrome Photography and I'm looking for some public feedback on what could be improved and/or added. What you might like to see etc. If you don't mind kindly providing some it would be appreciated.

If you google The Monochrome Collective Photography you will find it.
If you have any questions just let me know.
Darren
Also might I ask how you came about your website? "Came about" = arrive at a conclusion that was printed into a "philosophy". And I don't mean "philosophy" as where one has constraints put upon his premise by reflections of those photographers that influenced you@us.
Thanks!
Dan

The website grew out of a community on the photo sharing app called foto. I also have been looking for a site dedicated to just monochrome to keep up with news, get tips and inspiration and I couldn't find one so I thought I would create one. I am trying to keep it mostly a free resource with a few paid items to support the effort.

Darren,
You certainly have put in the work, well done. There is so much to digest, it will take some time to review it all, and I'm looking forward to it. I found the images, articles, and list of resources very interesting. Thanks for putting this together.

Darren,
Fascinating effort and a ton of work! The front door to a monochrome world.
Thoughts:
1. Is the circular logo a homage to Leica? At a glance it suggests Leica to me as used on several websites. Maybe nit picky but the association persists.
2. The narrative is plural throughout, i.e. 'we'. I searched to see if I recognized any of the 'we' and could not locate any references.
3. Inspiration - credit to the photographer? How was the set sourced? Curated?
Overall, great images, and a resource I look forward to exploring further. Thank you for the work and sharing the link!

I think this is a great start. As a monochrome fan there's a lot of information I'm interested in. I'll definitely adds the link to my favorites and will be following it as you refine the site.
I wondered the same thing Bob mentioned above about credits to the photographer for the various topics. My initial assumption was that they are yours, but I'd like to see the credit next to or below the images. There are dozens of great images in the Monochrome Gallery in the Inspiration section. I'd really like to know who the photographer is. Also, I'd like to be able to click individual images in that gallery and see them large, rather than as big thumbnails.
It's equally important for the text be attributed. Is this all your writing, or is it compiled from other sources?
One final question. Is being a member of Foto required in order to participate in the Monochrome Collective?

Hi Brent,
Thanks so much for taking the time give me feedback. So far all of the written content is from myself but hopefully in the future I can bring some others to write content and I will definitely give them credit. The news articles are liked to their respective sources. Most of the images are my own to start but i will work on bringing in and recognizing other photographers as well.
You don't have to be part of the foto community to participate in the website but there some crossover in content. I hope to be adding a forum soon.

Hi Bob,
I appreciate your reply. The logo was not intentionally linked to Leica. Just a design coincidence but I do shoot Leica myself. All of the content is my own as I just launched but I hope to invite others as it grows and will certainly give credit. I'm working on a forum option and ways to have others contribute. Always open to suggestions.

A most ambitious project and solid beginning - I plan to often and view your wonderful set of images.
Please, in what little spare time you have, keep us posted!

Thanks again for your feedback! I addressed all of your comments. Now there is article attribution, image credits and links to each photographers website/portfolio (I am still populating some images). I also created a free member area where others can submit images, articles etc. Feel free to try it out.

I signed up with a user name, then created a password. Everything seemed to be going well until I tried to log in. Then I got a popup saying my account was not verified and that I needed to respond to an email that was sent. No email came.
