p.1 #1 · Flash bracket for use with wireless flash trigger
I'm working to advance from on-camera flash to using flash on a bracket for all the touted benefits. However, I'm struggling to find a good bracket option that seems built to work with a wireless flash trigger on my camera. Not sure if use of flash brackets is a dying sub-category of gear, or if I'm missing something obvious!
I can't seem to find a bracket that doesn't require a shoe cord to connect the flash to the bracket. I'm hoping to use my Godox X3 flash trigger on my camera, so am not interested in a wired connection. However, all brackets I can find seem to require the shoe cord to enable the flash to connect to the bracket. Do I need to buy a shoe cord, cut the cord off and just use the hot shoe part to connect to the bracket? (seems wasteful!) Or is there a better way to use a flash bracket with modern wireless triggers for our flash units?
Appreciate any advice, and apologies for the beginner topic. Thank you.

You don't mention what flash unit you are using.
I'm not familiar with the X3 flash trigger, but I'm guessing that if you have a Godox flash unit the "signal receiver" is built into the flash unit. That said, you should not need an additional hot shoe type receiver in order for the flash and the X3 trigger to communicate.
I apologize if I'm not understanding the situation.

Larry, thank you for your post - sorry not to be clear. My flash is a Godox V1Pro shoe-mountable, on a Nikon Z6iii. My brilliant idea was to get a bracket (such as what kaplah posted) and mount the Godox X3 radio trigger on the camera hotshoe, while mounting the Godox on the bracket. That setup would eliminate the need for the cable linking camera to flash, and my hope was it would be a bit more streamlined that way. At least that's the idea...
kaplah - thank you! That cold shoe at the bottom of your post looks like it solves the problem - small, cheap yet sturdy to connect the flash to the bracket, given there is no need for a "hot" connection to the camera (the radio trigger provides that). Do you have a vendor and part number for that cold shoe? It looks different than a CS2 Cold Shoe that I just ran into on PMG's site. Thank you so much!!

Stroboframe made some terrific brackets. I had a few of them over the years for different format cameras, and they were comfortable to use when you're shooting a wedding all day.
You can find then pretty cheap these days (used on eBay - there's a lot of them) or post a WTB on Buy & Sell.
They're built to last
They're even useful if you're shooting with a video rig and need to mount a light/mic above the camera.
I used an off-camera cord with my bracket. Less to go wrong when you're hard-wired.

I intended to mention the ultimate cold shoe: the Frio. If you can cinch it onto the bracket such that it is unlikely to twist, it's great. Very secure, easy in and out with most speedlights.
I use them, exclusively, on light stands when a speedlight is appropriate.
