p.1 #1 · Macro Twin Light Setup

For macro photography, does anyone have pictures showing the capabilities of a twin light setup like the Godox/Flashpoint MF12 or Olympus STF-8? I'd love to also hear some info on how said photos were set up and any modifications made to improve your setup. I'm entering into the M43 world with an OM-1 and OM 60mm f/2.8 macro lens and am keen to try a twin light setup with it.

TIA for inspiration, and insights.

I have not used those in particular, but similar Nikon and Canon dual flash on-lens setups. They have particular uses, but are best for certain subjects/situations.

It would help to be clear about what you are trying to do, for example studio or field; still life, product, small critters, etc. I used about 4 basic setups with variations and I'm sure there are more.

I have an OM-1 and OM-3 and use the 60 and 90mm macro, and STF-8. The macro lenses (whether 60 or 90) are terrific. Of course you get better reach with the 90, but both are excellent.

The STF-8 flash works very well despite a few gripes by buyers. I suspect those are people trying to use it with non-Oly lenses.Used with the 60 or 90, it's terrific. Highly adjustable rotate and tilt of the heads, many ratio settings, TTL, manual, etc. Rather than me ramble on about it, check out these videos. I have no complaints with it. It also comes with a nice carry bag FWIW.
