I think we knew all along it wasn't Cosina, because Cosina has generally acknowledged the lenses they make for Zeiss and they never claimed the Loxia lenses. It is interesting that it was Tokina that made them. I have never even heard any speculate they were the manufacturers.

Kenko Tokina got ownership of Japan market distribution and after sales support of Zeiss Loxia and Batis lenses a couple of years ago from Zeiss Japan but I don't know if they are the manufacturer of either series. At least Batis were always thought to be made by Tamron.
I always doubted the idea of Cosina manufacturing Loxia but still not sure if it was Kenko Tokina either.

There are those patents from Tamron that "look" suspiciously like some of the Batis, although some people speculated it was just the AF being patented. Still seems like that's pretty strong evidence that Tamron had a hand in the Batis.
