p.1 #1 · Anyone using Mamiya 645 lenses on a Leica SL?

Recently moved into the mirrorless world with a Leica SL (type 601) I bought here. For years I've been using a slew of old MF lenses mounted to my various Canon DSLRs.

One of my favorites is a manual focus Mamiya 645 200/2.8 APO lens. Curious if anyone has been using the old Mamiya 645 lenses on the SL series cameras? Searching hasn't found me much.

Seems to me a simple dumb adaptor without a glass element of any sort is all I should need, correct?

When I search around for adaptors I'm finding ones that shift or tilt/shift or with a glass element that "reduces". Wondering if I not understanding something here since I'm not seeing just basic adaptors.

I used to have my lineup of M645 glass, and your 200/2.8 APO is a dandy (didn't have one, but saw plenty of shots from others).

As to mounting it on the SL body, I'd look at Fotodiox ... at least for a starting point. I had a slew of their adapters (including M645 > EF) back in the day. If anyone is going to have a direct M645 > L Mount adapter, I'd look to them first. Others might, but if they don't ... I'd be very surprised.

NOTE: Get their PRO series adapters (vs. the lesser priced regular ones).

And, yes ... dumb, without glass should work just fine. I can't see any reason why not.

Yeah, fotodiox was where I went first. They are only showing shift and tilt/shift ones which surprised me.

I already hit them up for Leica R and CY Zeiss adaptors so I can use those on my SL.

It's just been so long since I first started adapting lenses that I no longer even think about it. Everything I have just works.

When I didn't see a simple adaptor I got to wondering if there was something my old brain has forgotten about. That happens a lot these days, !
