Luminar Neo Issue

p.1 #1 · Luminar Neo Issue

I recently got Luminar Neo and I like a number of their presets as a starting point for certain edits. The issue I'm having is that the presets take forever to load, even presets I've used dozens of times. It's not a computer bottleneck - I'm running an M3 Ultra Mac Studio with 512GB of memory, LR catalog on the internal drive, photos stored on an OWC external with 8TB of NVMe memory connected via Thunderbolt 4. LR and Photoshop are rocket ships on the computer. Edits in Luminar Neo are fine, but the presets can take up to 2 minutes to load before I can use them after sending an image over to Luminar from LR. Any ideas on how to speed up the preset load times?

The only bottleneck I see is the relatively slow external SSD, but that would be small fractions not minutes. TB4 uses PCIe 3.x speeds like 10 years ago.
However, your problem is obviously with the software. Does Neo possibly phone home to Luminar every time it launches?

The external SSD is actually blazing fast -- I just ran Blackmagic and I'm getting over 3500 MBs in both read and write. As far as I know, there aren't many faster external drives in the world.

Maybe Luminar does phone home every time I need a preset -- good point if that's the case. If it does, is there anyway to shortcut it?

Takes forever on my Mac system too. It's a Luminar issue, not a system issue, as far as I am concerned
